Travelers are certainly thinking about how to make their trips fun, memorable, and adventurous. During the trip, they will probably come up with a variety of fun games to entertain their companions, enrich their memories, and challenge themselves. We present to you an interesting game that is rapidly expanding among travelers around the world who play as treasure hunters.
The name of this game is Geocache, and it is a game in which travelers use our well-known GPS or location-finding device to hide something in natural and historical places and announce it to the world and search for it. The number of players has already reached 10 million.
The basic principle of the game is to set the coordinates of a given point on your GPS device and search for hidden treasures. The treasures you find are hard boxes, waterproof containers, notebooks, and various souvenirs.
You can write down in your notebook who found it and when, and if you want a souvenir, take one and put it in the same place as before. You can leave things like banknotes, coins, key chains, jewelry, etc. that are not too valuable in the container. However, food or easily perishable or damaged items are not allowed. If you are planning to make a new hiding place, think about safety. / For example: 100m away from the railway, away from the road, etc. /. However, since you are a treasure hunter, you need to work very secretly and skillfully. No one should see you find this treasure and hide it again. Because if your treasure is gone, it means that the next player will come looking for it and come across an empty door.
It is a game based on the principle that one GPS owner hides this “treasure” (a box with items) and announces its location coordinates to the public (posted on a special Web page), and the other GPS owner searches for the “treasure” according to these coordinates. There is only one rule: if you want to take something from the box, you must leave something of equal or greater value in the box.
In Mongolia, a group of young enthusiasts led by M. Bolorbold and B. Surenkhuu have created a united club and placed geocaches at a total of 200 points in beautiful natural places. Each country also creates its own GeoArt, and in 2018, we created a “Toonot” map in Zorgol Khairkhan Mountain, Bayan-Onjul soum, Tuv aimag. In this map, there are a total of 192 caches or hiding places located at a distance of 190-200m from each other. You can also become one of them and join this interesting game.
